The copyrighted “Discipline Toolbox” offers educators and parents a comprehensive analysis of twenty of the most commonly encountered disruptive behaviors. It includes possible causes, suggested prevention methods, and strategies for appropriate responses to these behaviors.
Additionally, the “Toolbox” is included as a major part of a web-based course
that is being designed by the Department of Children and Families on the
topic of Guidance. This came to be when the curriculum designers for the
course, as well as a Project Advisory Team of early childhood experts from
around the state, overwhelmingly requested permission to use the document
after it had been reviewed.
In 2007, NAFC will be hosting free Discipline workshops for early childhood teachers and directors, as well as individualized consultations to a limited number of child care centers. The Discipline Toolbox is offered free to selected Collier County programs. The copyrighted manual is available for purchase. ($5.00 each for NAFC members and $7.00 each for non-members).
