Funded by the Community Foundation this program provides ongoing training to teachers at Huggy Bear and Kiddie Korral early childhood centers.
Early childhood professionals, Drs. Ruth and Harlan Hansen, concentrate on the developmental progress of four year olds in child care centers, specifically with regard to early literacy skills. The projected result of that support is the enhancement of the preschoolers’ reading skills in kindergarten.
In January, workshops and a copyrighted “Teaching Basic Literacy Skills & Concepts to PreK children” (teachers guide and DVD/tape) will be available at no cost to Collier County early childhood center Pre-school programs.
